'Mera' Hindi aisa hi hai!

Quality of Hindi on Television is degrading for sure!

Saturday night, heard this from Shaan in Star Voice of India (on Star Plus): ‘Govindaaji ke aane se mithaas aa gaya hai.”

Fuming, I changed the channel to hear Saba Karim on Five Good Minutes (On Star Cricket) say this, “Dhoni ko bahut mehnat karna padega.”

Jaayein to jaayein kahan?

Jaise hawa behta hai ya behti hai.
Raat ho gaya hai ya ho gayi hai.

I have studied thru out in Hindi medium institutions and respect the language. But at the same time, I wont change the channel if somebody wasn;t using the right Hindi.

Anu Kapoor at Antakshari uses very good Hindi but I just can't stand him and change the channel the moment his face appears.

On the other hand, even if Shaan speaks incorrect Hindi, I like the person. His good heartedness, his genuinity all comes out on his face. He does not speak that kind of Hindi to show superiority or style. I would rather appreciate the attempt he makes in speaking in a language he has not studied.

On the other hand, I would change the channel if I see all those MTV VJs speaking bad hindi to show a style.

There's a difference. A difference of attitude. and that matters.

Ultimately, above all, being a good human being is what matters. And then as long as we are able to communicate ourselves with love and peace, it's okay.

P.S. : Wrote English in place of Hindi at one place above hence had to delete and post this comment again.

Cuckoo: :-)

Loner: My point was only to highlight that this problem is across channels and anchors. And I couldn't agree more to 'Anu Kapoor' example that you've cited!
